The general assembly of the European Association of Comparative Economic Studies (EACES) took place on Friday, 13 September 2024 from 3.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the University of Economics and Business, with the following agenda:
1) Presidential Report
2) Financial Report
3) Approval of the actions (discharge) of the managing board
4) Elections
5) Other issues
There were about 40 members of the association present.
The president Hartmut Lehmann welcomed the members. He reported on the recent past of the association and thanked Sonja Avlijaš for the organization of the conference and – more generally – her service to EACES.
Following, the outgoing treasurer Jürgen Jerger, presented his report, which showed a sound financial situation of the Association. The report was unanimously accepted.
The assembly also unanimously approved the actions (discharge) of the exiting managing board.
The next step was voting for the new Management Board and the Executive Committee.
The elections were held separately for each of the positions within the new Management Board (to be in charge from September 2024 to September 2026) and led to the following results:
- President: Norberto Pignatti (ISET, Tbilisi and IZA, Bonn)
- Vice-President: Vahagn Jerbashian (University of Barcelona)
- Secretary: Karine Torosyan (ISET, Tbilisi)
- Treasurer: Jürgen Jerger (University of Regensburg)
All votes were unanimous.
Elections of the present Executive Committee members who confirmed their availability (Beata Farkas, Vladimir Gimpelson, David M. Kemme, Satoshi Mizobata, Martin Myant and Andrei Yakovlev) were held in one go. The positive vote was unanimous.
Elections for Hartmut Lehmann, Jaan Masso and Olga Popova, who would enter the Committee for the first time, replacing the exiting members, were held separately. All votes approved the candidates by unanimity.
After the voting, Norberto Pignatti closed the proceedings of the general assembly.
