General Assembly Report

The general assembly of the European Association of Comparative Economic Studies (EACES) took place on Friday, September 17th from 18:00 to 19:00 at Parthenope University, Naples, Italy.

The report of the outgoing treasurer Jürgen Jerger, which was presented by the outgoing president Hartmut Lehmann was unanimously accepted with 28 votes.

Given the passing away of Francesco Pastore on July 13th 2022, the outgoing president Hartmut Lehmann and the outgoing treasurer Jürgen Jerger expressed their willingness to be candidates for president and treasurer for another two years.

Hartmut Lehmann announced that the executive and advisory boards of EACES asked Sonja Avlijaš to be candidate for the vice-presidency of EACES. Sonja expressed her willingness to be the candidate for vice-president and to organize the 18th EACES conference at Belgrade University in 2024.

Since Kseniia Gatskova stepped down from the office of secretary the executive board asked Norberto Pignatti to be a candidate for the office of secretary. He expressed his willingness to be the secretary from September 2022 to September 2024.

The general assembly then voted on the four candidacies sequentially, approving the four candidates unanimously (28 yes votes, 0 no votes, 0 abstentions were recorded for each candidacy).

Therefore, the managing board of EACES will have the following composition from September  2022 to September 2024:

President: Hartmut Lehmann (Leibniz Institute of East and Southeast European Studies, University of Regensburg and IZA)

Vice-President: Sonja Avlijaš (University of Belgrade)

Treasurer: Jürgen Jerger (University of Regensburg and Leibniz Institute Institute of East and Southeast European Studies)

Secretary: Norberto Pignatti (ISET Tbilisi and IZA).

 

After the voting Hartmut Lehmann closed the proceedings of the general assembly.
